I Have Ached - Photographs

I have ached for the hundreds and hundreds of photographs I have put into a "to discard" box, and then a few days later - after thinking through - thrown away.

Some that went "the way of all things":

Duplicates
Poor photographs - blurred, badly coloured
Didn't know who they were
Didn't know where this was and why significant
Relevant to whom now that Dad has gone?
Just, just too many! (Scenery, places)

Some of the photographs I have passed on to living people who have been delighted to receive them.

I have ached thinking of all the hundreds and hundreds of Rands just going into the bin.

I have sorted photos of various aspects of my Dad's life for including in his personal history.

I still have two boxes of photos sorted for me, Tim, Jane, Les and Ron. There are precious pictures of their/our children as well.

The Church History photographs I will pass on to the person I know who is compiling some Church History.

There is a handsome group of breathtakingly wonderful scenery photographs which I hope Dianne, or someone else with the talents, will make into something memorable of my Dad - in due time.

This has been a sobering time for me - WHAT AM I SPENDING OUR FAMILY MONEY ON???!!!

It is impossible to keep everything significant to a person when they die.

Who will clear up after me? Will they be thoughtful and respectful? I hope so. Will they have the time, space and talent to do the clearing up? I hope so.

I am grateful I have the time, space and talent to do this important work for my Dad.
